YOUTH FORUM

WHAT IS IT ABOUT

About the Youth Forum

The Youth Forum is a fully integrated pillar of CDM 14—designed to put young people at the heart of the Caribbean’s resilience conversation, not on the sidelines.

Disasters, climate change, and economic shocks affect young people first and longest. But across the Caribbean, youth are also leading change—organising communities, building solutions, using technology, and reimagining what resilience looks like on the ground. The CDM 14 Youth Forum exists to amplify that energy, connect it across borders, and turn it into collective action.

A Truly Regional Youth Gathering

The Youth Forum will bring together young leaders from all 20 CDEMA Participating States, alongside a large and vibrant delegation of youth from Guyana, the host country. This creates a powerful regional mix—Caribbean youth learning from each other, sharing lived experiences, and building networks that extend far beyond the Conference.

From island states to mainland communities, urban centres to rural and coastal areas, the Youth Forum reflects the full diversity of Caribbean youth voices and realities.

What Makes the Youth Forum Different

Delivered as a dedicated three-day programme alongside the main Conference, the Youth Forum is directly connected to CDM 14’s core themes and outcomes. Youth are not attending as observers—they are contributors, innovators, and partners in shaping the region’s resilience agenda.
