WHY CDM 14 MATTERS
PURPOSE OF CDM 14
The purpose of CDM 14 is to tackle the region’s climate vulnerability by promoting innovative preparedness solutions and strengthening regional policy alignment. The conference facilitates critical dialogue between donors and governments to explore financing mechanisms for recovery and showcase technical innovations. By offering a vital platform for everyone involved, from researchers to government officials, the event leads to practical results that help reduce risks over time.
Conference focus
Resilience is no longer a long-term aspiration—it is an immediate necessity for the Caribbean.
By bringing people together, CDM 14 makes a significant difference by boosting funding for resilience projects and improving our response to challenges. By ensuring a greater alignment between policy, practice, and innovation, the conference commits to building a more resilient Caribbean. Ultimately, these efforts contribute to a sustainable development pathway that protects communities and secures the region’s future growth.
WHY CDM 14 IS IMPORTANT
Why CDM 14, Why Now?
CDM 14 is convened in response to this moment. It is a deliberate regional checkpoint—bringing the Caribbean and its partners together to assess whether current approaches to resilience are keeping pace with an increasingly complex and unforgiving risk landscape. The Conference creates space for honest reflection on what is working, where progress is falling short, and what must change to deliver faster recovery and stronger preparedness across sectors and communities.
